Criminal Investigation Courses
BASIC CRIME SCENE PROCESSING This five day program is designed for the patrol officer/new investigator and covers protecting and securing the scene, basic police photography, lifting fingerprints, processing the scene, and an introduction to cyber crime.
ADVANCED CRIME SCENE PROCESSING This five day program encompasses the packaging of evidence for submission to a crime lab; DNA and trace evidence; tool markings, arson, burglary, robbery and sex crimes; and additional fingerprinting techniques. PREREQUISITE: Student is required to have completed a 40 hour basic course.
CONDUCTING BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS This two day course is designed for newly appointed background investigators and will focus on: verifying the application; interviewing applicants; developing questions for the polygraph test; dealing with cultural differences; and legal issues facing the agency.
