A Message from the Director
On behalf of the member agencies and the instructors at Police Training Institute, I would like to welcome you to our website.
Police Training Institute was formed to provide
regional advanced police training opportunities to metropolitan and rural law
enforcement agencies and although we primarily serve agencies from Ohio,
Kentucky and Indiana, enrollment is open to law enforcement officers
nationwide.
Formed in 1990, PTI has serviced over 4,000 law enforcement officers representing agencies worldwide.
On July 1, 2004, PTI returned to its status
as an independent advanced law enforcement training provider in order to
continue to offer the highest quality programs and it retained its IRS
non-profit status.
On October 3, 2005, the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board renewed PTI’s provider status until November 1, 2008.
Our primary goal is to provide individual officers, their employing agencies and the communities that they serve with the tools to effectively perform the increasingly difficult job of policing.
We always look for constructive ideas from the working professionals in our curriculum and welcome your comments and suggestions as to how we can better serve your needs. A simple form is provided on the main page to get your suggestions, comments and registrations directly to us.
